Apple Originals score nine Golden Globe nominations

Apple Originals have this year notched up a total of nine Golden Globe nominations, including Slow Horses for Best Drama.

No fewer than seven actors have picked up outstanding performance nominations across four different shows, with winners set to be announced on January 5 …

The nominations are:

“Slow Horses”

  • Best Television Series — Drama
  • Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series, Drama — Gary Oldman 
  • Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television — Jack Lowden

“Disclaimer”

  • Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
  • Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television — Cate Blanchett
  • Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television — Kevin Kline

“Shrinking”

  • Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy — Jason Segel
  • Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television — Harrison Ford

“Presumed Innocent”

  • Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series, Drama — Jake Gyllenhaal

Apple TV+ announced the latest accolades.

Today, Apple was recognized with nine nominations across four programs for the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards, with top category nominations including Best Drama for the darkly funny spy series “Slow Horses” and Best Limited Series for acclaimed thriller “Disclaimer,” alongside outstanding performance nominations for Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden in “Slow Horses”; Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline in “Disclaimer”; Jason Segel and Harrison Ford in “Shrinking”; and Jake Gyllenhaal in “Presumed Innocent.” The winners will be revealed on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

In addition to a nomination for Best Television Series and Drama, Emmy Award-winning hit “Slow Horses” earns a Best Performance nod for lead Oldman, his second Golden Globe nomination for “Slow Horses” in this category, alongside a Best Performance by a Supporting Actor nomination for Lowden. These follow Emmy and BAFTA Award nominations for their outstanding performances as the beloved, irascible Jackson Lamb (Oldman) and Slough House favorite River Cartwright (Lowden), among many other honors for the series.

Globally acclaimed Alfonso Cuarón thriller “Disclaimer” lands Best Performance and Limited Series nominations for Academy Award-winning stars Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline for their riveting turns in the gripping drama as Catherine Ravenscroft and her nemesis Stephen Brigstocke. These nominations follow recent recognition from the Critics Choice Awards with four nominations, including Best Limited Series and best performances for Blanchett, Kline and Leila George.

Celebrated hit comedy “Shrinking” earns a Best Performance, Musical or Comedy nomination for star Jason Segel, his second Golden Globe nod in this category for his performance as Jimmy in the series, as Harrison Ford lands a Best Performance in a Supporting Role nomination for his turn as Paul, which also marks his first Golden Globe nomination in a television category. These are the latest accolades for the series following nods from the Emmy Awards, Critics Choice Awards and the WGA, among many others.

Apple’s widely hailed “Presumed Innocent” scores a Best Performance in a Drama nod for lead Jake Gyllenhaal as Rusty Sabich, which follows a recent nomination for co-star Ruth Negga by the Film Independent Spirit Awards.

Apple TV+ picked up its first Golden Globe Award in 2021, when Jason Sudeikis won best comedy actor as Ted Lasso. Since then, Apple Originals have achieved an impressive 2,402 nominations and 535 wins.
